Finca La Esmeralda is a beautiful 72 hectare farm situated in the heart of Acatenango Valley.

All farms in Acatenango region are strongly driven by family tradition and their celebration as well as paying respect to past generations and all the hard work they put into creating and constructing not only the farms but their character and image.

Hermes, who is the current owner of La Esmeralda and a third generation coffee producer is working hard to sustain his family coffee tradition and does his best to produce high quality coffee year to year.

He has invested his time and effort in La Esmeralda and is currently experimenting with planting hybrid varieties that will not only produce higher quality coffee but it will also make it more economically sustainable.

The coffee is shade grown and it is surrounded by thick lush forest full of different varieties of trees and
flowers that attract tons of birds and insects and makes it a perfect and holistic home for them.

Not only that, but thanks to the natural diversity Hermes has been able to produce organic honey which also helps to diversify his income.

The hives are strategically designated in specific areas among the coffee trees. It gives it a pollination boost while coffee flowering is happening.
