Jairo comes from a family that has been dedicated to coffee production for many years. He’s the third generation of growers, getting knowledge and experience mainly from his father.

In 2012, after graduating from high school, Jairo started working with San Vicente, with whom his father marketed his coffee as well.

That same year he got the opportunity to buy a farm in the high part of the Santa Barbara mountain. He worked there for 7 years but due to extremely cold conditions, his production was poor each year and he was never able to make a sensible profit out of it. In 2019 he decided to sell the plot.

In 2020 he bought another property, also in the mountain, yet within much better environment and weather conditions. On this property there used to be a coffee plantation with abandoned pacas and IH90 trees. Jairo worked hard to recover them until they become productive again. That same year he planted a plot of parainema and pacamara.

Views for the future are now different for him. Jairo feels very excited, cause 2022 is his second season of producing and preparing microlots of specialty coffee from his new farm that score high, present a stable shelf life and reward him with a reasonable profit.
