The Story

What we love about San Coffee is that it’s a one-of- a-kind Brazilian coop that unites only 20 producers who are equal shareholders deciding about the business. A broad experience and knowledge of the farmers became a foundation of Beyond Borders project for smaller producers in the Campo das Vertentes region.

The program, founded in 2012 aims to add value and recognition to the growers, as well as generating positive social and environmental impacts in Campo das Vertentes community. In it, the partners (non- coop member growers) are invited to participate in Sancoffee’s direct exports structure under the same scheme offered to its members.

Goals of Beyond Boarders:

• to increase in grower income;
• to generate international recognition for the work done by growers and their families;
• to promote the integration among community members;
• to create social and environmental positive impacts on the communities;
• to promote the personal and professional development of the growers

The growers, coming from 245 families, have been reporting improvements in their production and life conditions and even there are young family members being attracted back to the coffee business.

The lot we offer this year is a naturally processed yellow catucai from Antonio Rogerio de Paula who runs Fazenda Jose Berrnardes. Antonio is a small producer and his farm is
only 26 hectares. Thanks to the BB program he had a chance to export his microlot abroad. Enjoy!
