Does Duromina sound familiar to you?
Abdurehman used to work for this super famous Ethiopian coop, managing financial affairs. He’s a second generation coffee producer who, at some point, inherited a very tiny piece of land from his father. He developed and expanded the farm which spreads over 10 hectares today.
Like other smallholders in the region, he planted 74112 and 74110 coffee trees under naturally grown endogenous trees in a beautiful, semi-wild forest scenery.
In 2021 Abdurehman started exporting his own coffees to the international market and that’s obviously a significant milestone after years of delivering his cherries to the Duromina coop.
He processes his coffee as a classic Ethiopian natural, when ripe cherries are being dried on raised beds as whole fruit.
